Crossroads

Intersecting the new and the old technologies, nature and urbanisation, this body of work employs collage as both methodology and metaphor. Collage processes of cutting, layering, fragmenting, and reassembling images to reflect landscapes that are increasingly altered, mediated, and contested.

At the centre of these works is a larger-than-life female protagonist, recontextualised within river environments. She operates simultaneously as subject and provocateur: embedded within the landscape yet unsettling its balance. Scale, disjunction, and placement are used deliberately to question ideas of belonging, agency, and human presence within fragile ecosystems. The river becomes both setting and witness, disrupted and shaped by time, human intervention, and resilience.

My cross-disciplinary practice spans drawing, collage, photomedia, and animation, allowing images to move between stillness and motion, analogue and digital. Through these hybrid forms, I explore the tensions between intimacy and distance, care and control, connection and disruption. Warning: Remote Areas Ahead invites viewers to reflect on their own position within these environments and not as observers outside the frame, but as active participants within an increasingly complex ecological narrative.
