THIS WORK IS SOLD to a private collector and no longer available.

I began this drawing thinking about collections, why we collect things and what is truly important to us. I began to draw an edifice, grand enough for magnificent collections. Whilst drawing and surrounded by trees, birdlife and the magnificent Clarence River, I heard suburbia’s sounds and the high pitch noise of chainsaws. I dwelt on how people plant shrubs and often cut down trees. The tree became a symbol of stoicism and beauty, something to be treasured. Cheekily, I also collaged my female protagonist as a collection of designers’ disembodied limbs from various magazines.

We are thrilled with our recent purchase of a Rochelle Summerfield original artwork. It really does finish off our living room and is so unique. We get so many comments on it from friends and family. We are looking forward to adding another piece to our collection soon.
