My art practice is deeply influenced by the connections and experiences with the rivers and habitat where I live. The work ‘Curious’ invites you to be captivated with the natural environment around you. The female subject is curious about the moment of lived experience and purposeful awareness of being, feeling the cool waters and serenity of the environment. She looks deeply into the mysteries of the river and her reflected self.
Through drawing, paint, collage, and digital media such as photography and video, I disrupt traditional art forms and combine them with new technologies. With bold collagist experimentation, I fragment and layer imagery to expose the small revelations between media. These juxtapositions open up the possibilities of reinventing different ways of being with the natural environment.
