Description
I was camped by the Nepean River for a 3-week artist residency at the Penrith Regional Gallery. Every morning I would ride my bike ride along the Great River Walk that winds along the Nepean riverbank. It’s a popular track and I’d watch how people really engaged with the river; swimming, boating, jogging along it and fishing. Just over the bridge, in the distance is the frantic, intense shopping hub of the city. With cheeky humour, the artwork is about the hiatus between going with the flow and its ensuing consequences or learning how to swim.
