Description

After a night with friends, the refreshing ocean waters were just what I needed to revive me. As I walked along the warm, glistening sand there was a coastal Banksia tree (Banksia integrifolia). With twisted and winding roots she was finding purchase on the sandy soils and stabilising the dunes.

Her gnarled, and swollen trunk demonstrated her endurance as she was a grand old-growth tree. She looked like she had endured many long moonlit nights and beautiful beach days. Her strength and power was in her core. Her branches stretched up to take hold of the sun. She bore gifts of lemon-yellow soft golden cones bedded in slivery, khaki green leaves that swirled and matted to form a thick green sky above me.
