Description
Being in nature energizes my soul and when I combine drawing and nature, I get a supercharge! I regularly kayak the Clarence River, where I source most of my inspiration for my art. I saw this stand of delicate and yet immensely strong trees, that were twisted to the shape of the flooding Clarence River. The trees were Water Gums (Tristaniopsis laurina).
One Water Gum had roots that swelled and shaped, buddha-like in feel, embedded within the riverbank. I felt the essence of this tree, its masculine and feminine energy combine as a creative flow during its making.
