Description
Two hauntingly beautiful and stoic Macquarie River Gums stood exposed, with their entangled history of root systems stretching out for water. Instead of a river downstream, I found a barren, dry riverbed. Where water once flowed, now the bright green of the Noogoora Burr is thriving in this bare dirt. This work was inspired by visiting the drought-stricken Macquarie River, west NSW. I painted a river beginning to flow again.
